Environmental Policy
Established as a manufacturer of hand made clay roof tiles for more than four centuries and with a reputation that most competitors can only dream of, Keymer have considerable experience in producing a range of roofing materials which give the best aesthetic appearance and which offer a lifespan, which in most instances will extend well beyond the current occupiers.
The company digs the weald clay from the reserves on site, there by minimising transportation and makes every effort to ensure the maximum use of its resources re using waste from production wherever it is feasible. The use of energy and water are controlled and monitored closely in our aim to achieve sustainability.
This environmental policy forms part of an Environmental Management System. This system provides a clear framework for setting and reviewing objectives and targets at the Management Review Meetings.
When spent, Quarry areas are restored in a manner to ensure a sustainable after use, the improved awareness of environmental issues by employees is encouraged thereby ensuring the local environment is protected and cared for. The prevention of pollution and compliance with the necessary Legislation will ensure the business remains diligent for the next four hundred years.
